Switzerland could become the first country to ban electric vehicles in winter to ensure energy security, as it fears there may not be enough electricity on the grid to recharge them.
The document says: (https://www.spiegel.de/auto/schweiz-erwaegt-fahrverbote-fuer-e-autos-a-0852896b-db48-44da-8fab-a2d0f6d03081) “Private use of electric vehicles is only permitted for absolutely necessary travel (e.g. visiting a doctor, attending religious events, attending court hearings).”
Almost all countries of Western Europe have similar problems. Electricity is becoming more and more expensive, and the quantities of electricity are becoming less and less. In Western Europe, no new power plants are being built, as in some countries for decades, while the old ones are being closed.
The construction of wind parks and solar parks does not guarantee reliable electricity, moreover, it is many times more expensive than traditional electricity from nuclear power plants, thermal power plants or hydropower plants.
