Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro criticizes Leonardo DiCaprio for a tweet about the Amazon rainforest: You want to change the whole world, but not yourself!
Jair Bolsonaro has responded to actor Leonardo DiCaprio’s false claims about fires in the Amazon rainforest.
Bolsonaro also cited current data on the Amazon rainforest, such as the fact that Brazil is the country with the most forest conservation in the world.
Bolsonaro: “You again, Leo? I could tell you one more time to abandon your yacht before lecturing the world, but I know progressives: you want to change the whole world, but not yourself, so I will let you go. But don’t worry Leo, unlike the places you pretend not to see by playing the part of the blind brilliantly, Brazil is and will continue to be the nation that saves the most. You can keep playing with your Hollywood star toys while we do our job.”
“In fact, in my government, the average deforestation rate is much lower than in the past, when a crook turned candidate who was supported by your Brazilian buddy was in power,” Bolsonaro said of former socialist president Lula, who was backed by the Hollywood left.
In addition to up-to-date data on the tight control of illegal logging that the current administration has imposed on criminals, the President of Brazil made it clear that Brazil is the country with the best conservation of its vegetation among the other G20 countries.
“It is clear that everyone who attacks Brazil and its sovereignty for the sake of displaying virtue has no idea about it. They don’t know, for example, that we keep more than 80% of our native vegetation or that we have the cleanest energy among the G20 countries,” he said.
Jair Bolsonaro continued DiCaprio: “It is also clear that you are not aware that my government has announced a new commitment to eradicate illegal logging by 2028, and not by 2030 like most countries. Or maybe you know it, but for some reason you pretend not to know. I hope you don’t get too much for this role.”
