Ottawa Officer: What I saw was the police doing the dirty work of politicians as assassins

One Calgary, Canada police officer is no longer willing to threaten, intimidate or arrest peaceful demonstrators who refuse to follow the orders of tyrants.

Nick Motichka, a police officer who has served in Canadian law enforcement for over 16 years, took to Facebook with a powerful message to his fellow law enforcement officers:

“Today was a hard day for me. Something was taken from me that I can never get back. Watching Ottawa police officers take fuel from peaceful demonstrators robbed me of a long-held belief that I believed to be an undeniable truth, namely that the police are there to protect and help people. I will never see my profession in the same light as I have until today.”

“What I saw was the police doing the dirty work of politicians like hired killers.”

“It goes against all the reasons why I chose this mostly thankless, difficult, traumatic career with a terrible day at work. The reason I chose this profession is to help people.”

“What’s going on in Ottawa, with clear political influence on the police to physically influence peaceful demonstrators for possible political gain, is very wrong on many levels.”

“I was just following orders – that’s no longer an excuse. The time has come to stand up and speak out, refusing to violate the fundamental statutory rights of our fellow citizens. You signed up to help people. Stand with your fellow citizens and say “Enough!”.

“There is no doubt that we are all part of history now. I have one question for you: “Which side do you want to be on?”.
