Liberal media promotes conspiracy theory against Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
Ron DeSantis is looking to create a civilian corps in his state to help with natural disasters such as hurricanes.
Twenty-two other states already have the same thing, but media outlets portray it as a private militia following DeSantis’ personal orders.
These are the same media outlets that constantly accuse others of spreading conspiracy theories. They spread lies and misinformation, and none of them will pay for it.
As CNN put it: “Florida Governor Ron DeSantis wants to rebuild WWII civilian military forces that will be controlled by him, not the Pentagon.”
DeSantis presented this idea as a way to further support the Florida National Guard during emergencies such as hurricanes.
But in response to growing tensions between Republican states and the Biden administration over the National Guard, DeSantis also said the unit, called the Florida State Guard, “would not be burdened by the federal government.” He said this strength would give him “the flexibility and ability to respond most effectively to events in our state.” DeSantis is proposing a 200-civilian volunteer squad, and he is demanding $3.5 million from the state legislature in start-up costs for training and equipping them.
If Florida continues with DeSantis’ civilian rebuilding plan, it will become the 23rd active State Guard in the country, the DeSantis office said in a press release, along with California, Texas and New York.
