Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Tuesday that citizens over 60 years old will need to be vaccinated against Covid-19
Individuals over 60 should receive at least the first dose by January 16, Mitsotakis said at a press conference.
Those who do not get vaccinated will be fined €100 ($113) monthly until they get vaccinated. “This is the price to be paid for health,” the prime minister said.
The financially troubled Greece has found a new way to replenish the treasury. Instead of reducing pensions, the state will directly take a health tax.
