Strong wind and casualties after the collapse of a clock tower in Istanbul

Two people died in Istanbul after the clock tower collapsed in a hurricane on Monday.

The dire weather conditions forced the Turkish Coast Guard to suspend traffic across the Bosphorus.

Strong winds also disrupted air traffic: six Turkish Airlines aircraft were unable to land in Istanbul and were diverted to Ankara and Izmir.

Strong winds, in places intense rainfall in different parts of the Balkan Peninsula.
