In Norway, questioned the achievement of herd immunity

Most of the population is vaccinated, but the virus manages to find ways to penetrate the population, said the deputy director of the Norwegian Institute of Health, Espen Rostrup Nakstad, on August 29, the Norwegian edition of NRK reported.

“This is because vaccines are not 100% effective against the spread of infection. They are possibly 90% effective in people who are fully vaccinated, ”explained Espen Rostrup Nakstad, specifying that several fully vaccinated people have been infected with the new Delta strain over the past week.

The specialist noted that vaccinated people can also transmit the virus to others, but stressed that vaccination, nevertheless, is of great importance for humans, since the vaccine helps against dangerous diseases, but does not prevent the further spread of infection.
