The US National Hurricane Watch Center (NHC) on Saturday, August 21, announced that Hurricane Grace near Mexico was escalating to Category III.
Meteorologists note that the maximum wind speed reaches 193 km/h. The hurricane travels westward at a speed of 16 km/h.
A hurricane is increased to the third category when the wind speed is above 180 km/h, and at 210 km/h – up to the fourth. The fifth, most “dangerous category” is assigned to hurricanes with wind speeds above 250 km/h.
The President of Mexico urges people to take cover.
▪️Earlier, on August 10, Biden announced that hurricanes were approaching the country in the near future and suggested that residents of states that could be hit by the disaster should be vaccinated in case of evacuation.
